  • Introduced marketing to company and after completely rebranding the company from messaging to brand design to corporate strategy, I provided complete day-to-day turnkey marketing services that included product positioning, collateral design and production, website design and management, guidance on intranet, trade shows and events, proposal and HR support, and social-media outreach.

2001 – 2004 | Director, Marketing and PR | Loral Skynet

  • Directed a $2.3 million global PR and marketing outreach and communications team of 6 in a $500 million unit of a $2+ billion dollar teleco.  

  • Responsible for strategic planning and tactical implementation of all core marketing communications, PR, analyst relations, trade-show activities, sales-force communications, intranet and Internet websites, and associated budgets and planning.

  • Managed creative development and vendors for all marketing and communications initiatives.

Communications manager at leading software company. Responsible for cultivating and maintaining contacts with trade media and industry analysts, creating a customer-references program, managing external vendors and seeking visibility for company products.

  • Responsible for creating new PR outreach that included program planning; organizing media and analyst tours; writing news releases, backgrounders, white papers and user stories; maintaining and managing databases; researching and monitoring competitive products; and providing sales tools.

  • Tasked with creating an industry-analyst outreach. Instituted a three-pronged approach to analyst relations: product awareness, vendor input and opinion solicitation for product positioning.

  • Doubled the number of media interviews and multiplied the number of analyst contacts, both within and outside of subscribed services, at least fivefold over first nine months.

  • Organized an awareness campaign that included a series of mailings, follow-up calls and an analyst tour with executives and product managers.

1987-1996 | American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics

 

Director, Public Affairs, Publications, and Exhibits (1993-1996)

Directed all activities of the public affairs, media and exhibits programs. Developed business plans, short- and long-term goals and objectives and marketing and sales strategies for three product groups.

  • Member of eight-person BPR team tasked with revamping hierarchical organization to better serve customer base. Project lasted two years.

  • Responsible for business plans, budget, acquisitions process, pricing, contract negotiations, partnerships and overall management of programs with annual revenues of $1.75 million.

  • Coordinated proactive outreach to both trade and general media.

  • Managed promotions and marketing for four-color magazine ad-sales outreach and for trade show program. Managed sales staff and in-house telemarketing operation.
